School of Arts for commencement selects Hanoi Jane
Famous for
manning an AAA piece looking anxious to shoot down American planes
It should
come as no surprise that many Vietnam vets are outraged beyond belief
Those “war
criminals” who on behalf of their country endured so much pain and grief
Losing limbs,
buddies and a chance for a non post trauma state of mind
Seeing her
in the limelight must make it harder to put that sordid chapter of our history
behind
What is
ironic is that she will have the right to speak and give a commencement address
Because of
the 58,000 who gave it all to their last breath to our foes try to suppress
As much as
this poet believes Hanoi Jane’s past and actions must be rejected
And as a
taxpayer is most disappointed that Ms. Fonda was selected
Unlike the
small minded liberals at Rutgers, tolerance for her ideas is a valid point to teach
Hopefully,
the outraged Vets will not try to prevent her right to freedom of speech.
