Obamacare Albatross Coleridge Albatross In Reverse

November midterms are less than 10 months away and already, very early, almost like Christmas ads appearing after Halloween or Christmas shopping starting on Thanksgiving, Blue ads are appearing portraying Blue candidates in many cases as courageous Congressmen who stood up to Obama over the ACA (Obamacare, although since every Blue Senator and Representative voted for it, its proper name should be "Democare"). The ACA's sinking popularity and the President's evaporating popularity and loss of trust (if polls are right even more concern over perceived usurpation of Congressional power by the White House in even higher numbers) have made the President for want of a better symbol, an albatross around the neck of those Blues not retiring like Waxman-a key architect of the ACA-- and seeking reelection.
This poet has always believed in the power and symbolism of poetry and suggests reading the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner by Coleridge, a portion of which I quote:
"Ah ! well a-day ! what evil looks
Had I from old and young !
Instead of the cross, the Albatross
              About my neck was hung."
An albatross was an omen of good luck, to kill an albatross meant a ship was doomed to bad luck. In ACA land, Coleridge was accurate but in reverse. Supporting the Obamacare Albatross will not  bring fortune only disaster to our Ship of State and those Blues who voted for it.  The reverse, killing it off, will bring good luck and charm to our Ship of State and may even bring good fortune to those Blues willing to stand with the Reds. Great poem by Coleridge and hope you enjoy my muse comments:
Obamacare Albatross Coleridge Albatross In Reverse
One of the few nice things about a politician who makes his office a career
Loyalty to the party comes in dead last when it comes to elections, pleas fall on deaf ears
Obama and Obamacare are toxic to almost any Blue wanting to keep his seat
Career first, especially when his reelection chances are doomed to defeat
The Blues in Congress had a complete memory lapse over failed Hillarycare
Contract with America in 1994 kicked them out into the cold November postelection air
To his credit, Clinton with the Reds worked the Art of Compromise not the Obama highway road,
Even as the beginnings of bipartisanship back then were beginning to erode
The worst recession since the Great Depression that swept in FDR with coattails so very long
In 2008, the American people voted that a Red House majority in this nation did not belong
Obama, Reid and Pelosi then  pushed the ACA down the Red throats
But history has a boring tendency when not understood to repeat
Surprise, in 2010 after the ACA, Pelosi’s Blues flamed out in defeat
No one knew what it meant or likely read what the Blue staffers wrote
Now we do, and the outrage over Obama's legacy continues to grow
Nice try Blues, we remember and it’s time for you to pack up and go
You may dodge and you may your new opposition weave and spin
Losing doctors and plans is memory tonic; in that effort, you will not win
The symbol for the Blues since the time of Nash, a Donkey has been
Blues are not sailors, their Obama albatross--not luck but a guarantee they will not win
If those Blues terrified about losing their career seats had any integrity left in their tank and moral code,
Apologize before the voters, admit error, promise to ax Sibelius and  break from Reid, Pelosi and Obama to work with Reds to lift the Obamacare load
Sibelius, protected by Obama, still draws a paycheck higher than most
When due to her ineptness and deceptions she should by now be toast
Most of us in America are a forgiving sort, especially when motives may have been pure
Most of us do not want the ERs as the way for the poor’s health care to insure
Voters may or may not believe and may or may not elect to them keep
But at least these Blues, souls unloaded over errs, might at least get some restful sleep
Pelosi is a different case and one would hope she tells the voters to take a hike
Her remaining in office in terms of motivating voters will be like a lightning strike.
Watching her minions about to go down once again in flames,
Maybe she honors her word and goes to the Factor to absolve her shame
